Abstract: The concept of"the top priorities of the country” is a crucial element of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.We need to decode this concept from the perspective of ideological and political education, exert its crucial function of value guidance,and thus create a new practical path of ideological and political education in universities. Firstly, we need to delve intothe educational implications of this concept in three aspects:political orientation,historical requirements,and great mission.Secondly,we need to incorporate this concept into educational objectives in three dimensions: political orientation, career development, and spiritual growth. Lastly, we need to emphasize the construction of ideological and political courses,optimize the design of integrating value education into courses,and enhance talent cultivation through practice.In brief,we need to transform students’pursuits of‘the top priorities of the country” into their basic values,life goals,and action awareness, providing an effective approach to the innovation and development of ideological and political educationintheNewEra.
