Abstract : Regarding the issue of abnormal noise from the shock absorber of acertain vehicle model when passing through potholeroad,both the subjective evaluation test and the bench test are used to study the abnormal noise.The subjective evaluation and scoring rules are formulated to identify whether the shock absorber is abnormal,and then the scientific validity ofthe scheme is verified by comparing the bench test.The vibrationofthe piston rodof the shock absorbercan directly reflect thecoupled vibration of the shock absorber assembly.The acceleration signal at the topof the piston rod is collected by the LMS SCADASdata acquisition systemafter the frequency sweep of the bench and time-frequency analysis is carried out.The comparison and analysis show that the vibration energy of the abnormal vibration damper is 1.5~2 times that of the normal shock absorber in the frequency band of 500~700Hz . It isconcluded that the abnormal vibration of piston rod isthe main cause of abnormal sound of shock absorber. After repeated verification through the disassembly of the shock absorber,it is found thattheabnormal vibrationof thepiston rodof the shock absorber iscaused by the riveting processAfter optimizing the riveting process,the abnormal noise state of the shock absorber has been significantly improved.The research provides a reference for solving the abnormal noise of shock absorber.
