Abstract : This study focuses on the development requirements of SO3 martensitic low temperature stainless steel flexible plate of nozle section of a large wide temperature range high speed wind tunnel. Process test and research such as hot-bending forming,heat treatment,cryogenic treatment,machining,surface finish and residual detection have been carried out by using medium-sized scaled-down test specimens.The process routes and parameters meeting the product's external dimensions and performance indicators have been proposed and have beensuccessfully applied in the development of two flexible plate products.The research findings demonstrate that by employing the methodsof hot-bending forming,high-temperature annealing,and normal-temperature rectification, a forming accuracy of up to 1.5mm can be achieved. Adopting the 900°C/1 h (wc) +750∘C/1 h (wc) +750°C/1 h (wc) +500∘C/2 h (AC) heat treatment process, the work piece can obtain a yield strength exceding 1000MPa while meeting the requirements for toughness indicators. Annealing treatment cannot reduce the surface residual stress.However,the residual stressinside the flexible plate is less than thaton the surface and satisfies the index requirements.The optimized heat treatment tool and the air-cooling method have a significant effect on controlling the heat treatment deformation ofthe product. Using staged milling on the topand bottom faces alternately and a polishing machine can ensure the final external dimension accuracy and surface quality of the flexible plate product.
