Abstract: To analyze the motion response of ofshore engineering structures in waves,the pipe laying vessel and stinger used for laying submarine pipelines are selected as the study objects,the applicable computation theory of large-scale structure( pipe laying vessel) and small-scale structure( stinger and pipeline) is expounded,AQWA software is used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the pipe laying vessel-stinger under diffrent waves.The six direction motions of the pipeline laying vessel and stingers under regular and irregular waves are compared using frequency domain hydrodynamic analysis,and the response amplitude operator(RAO) for the motion response of the pipe laying vessel and stingers is get. The wave load time history of the pipe laying vessel and stingers under actual sea conditions is computed using time domain analysis,which lays the foundation for the strength analysis of the stinger.
