3D crack propagation analysis of typical integral structures based on Franc3D

Abstract:The integral structure eliminates the connectors and fasteners,and changes the original segmented mechanical connection structure into an integrated structure,which is an important technical way to achieve lightweight and long life of aircraft structures. Due to the lack of research on crack growth rules and damage tolerance design methods of integral structures,the application of integral structures is greatly limited. To solve this problem,based on Franc3D software,the crack growth laws of typical integral structures are studied,and the crack growth characteristics under diferent stress levels and the crack growth laws of typical integral structures under low stress levels are respectively studied. The results show that the stresslevel has a significant effect on the crack growth life,and controlling the stress level is an important means to ensure the safety of the structure life;under low stress level,the crack growth of the overallstructure can be divided into three stages.The first stage is the slow growth stage,accounting for 94.85% of the total life cycle, the crack crosses the cross section and bifurcates twice.
