提 要 本文阐述了英国英格兰地区的现代外语教学政策变化,探讨其政策背景下近年来最大的中文支持项目——中文培优项目(Mandarin Excellence Programme,简称MEP)的诞生和发展。通过对中文培优项目经验的总结来探索现代中文教学应该如何立足并确定长期稳定发展的策略及方向。

An Investigation of the Mandarin Excellence Programme from the Perspective of Foreign Language Education Policy in England

Abstract This paper concerns the modern foreign language education in England. It investigates the changes in modern foreign language education policies in England and focuses on the birth and development of Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP), which is the largest investment in modern language education in the UK in its modern history. It discusses, via the lessons gained from MEP programme, how the Mandarin Chinese education could be developed, and identifies strategies and directions for long-term stable development.
