Traditional Chinese Sports Culture as a Vehicle for Forging the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation: Pedagogical Integration with the Great Ideological and Political Curriculum

Abstract:Based on the“Great Ideological and Political Curiculum” framework,this study employs literature review,expert consultation,and theoretical analysis to examine how Chinese traditional sports culture strengthens university students’sense of the Chinese national community. Intrinsic logic reveals their essential compatibility, historically,traditional sports facilitated China’spluralistic unitypattern byleveraging cultural afinity to build a shared destiny community,thereby fostering ethnic unity through cultural-value identification. Universities should harnessthis culture's unique value through coordinated pathways.Guiding students in sports practice and cultural engagement deepens cognitive and emotional identification with the national community,enabling consciousness internalizationand practice.This enhancesstudents’belonging,identity,and responsibility,cultivating youth
