Abstract:During firing ofa truck-mounted howitzer,the crew compartment structure deforms elasticall due to the muzzle blastload,creating pressuredisturbancesintheinteralflowfieldofcabin.Theresultingoverpressurecausesasignificant threatto personnelandequipmentsafety.Tomeet drivingrequirements,thecrewcompartmentofthe truck-mounted howitzer is suspended onthechassis frame via an elastic support structure.Atthe same time,thestiffnessanddamping of thesupport structureareimportant factors affectingthe deformationresponseof thecabin structureunderthe impact ofthe muzzle blast load.Therefore,adjusting thesupport parameterstooptimize theflow field environment insidethecrewcompartment demonstrateshigh practicalutility.To investigate theeffctsof differentcabin supportconditions onthe flow field overpressure inside thecrewcompartmentofatruck-mounted howitzer,a foreign trade typeof equipment was takenas the object.Anentire path numerical model simulating the shock wave propagation from thecannon's muzle to theinteriorof the cabinunder extreme firing conditions was established.Systematicvalidation tests were conducted,capturing overpresuredata inboththeexteraland intealflowfieldsofthecrewcompartment,aswellastheaccelerationofthecabinstructure.Based onthevalidated numerical model,simulations were performed tocalculatethe structural responsesand intermal flowfield overpressures under eight diferent supportconditions.Theresults indicate that while diferent areas withinthecabin exhibit varyingsnsitivitytochanges insupportconditions,creasingthesupportstifessleads tosignificantreductionsinthepeak accelerationandvelocityofthecabinstructure,aswellasadecrease inthepeakoverpressrewithinthe interal flow field. However,the presence of damping in the support structure significantly enhances the aceleration response of the cabin structure,yetitfurtherdiminishesitsvelocityresponseandlowerthepeakoverpressure intheintealflowfieldofthecrew compartment.
