Abstract: Stel-concrete-steel composite (SCS)wall has be aplied in high-risebuildings and nuclear power plants.Its performance under accdental and extreme loads during the whole lifecycle deserves attention. Considering that fires and explosionsoftenoccursimultaneouslyndtatthemechanicalpropertiesofstelandconcretearedeterioratedsignificantlyat hightemperatures,this leads to serious degradationofblast resistance of structural members.Inthis context,a totalof 120 finite element (FE) models ofSCS wals under combined fire and explosion were established using ABAQUS software.First, theFE models were verified based on existing fireresistance tests and explosion testsat room temperatureonSCS wals.Then, the blast resistance mechanism of SCS walls was analyzed,andthe influences of keyparameters,including fire duration, explosioncharge,steel plateatiomaterial strength,tiebarsspacingandaxialcompresionratio,ontheexplosionsistance wereinvestigated.Finally,basedonthesingle-degreeoffreedommethod,theformulas were proposed topredict temaximum deformation of SCS wals under combined fire exposure and explosion.Theresults show that SCS wals primarily exhibit overallbending failureundercoupledfireexposureand explosion.Withtheincreaseoffireduration,thecontributionof the stelplateonthefire-exposedsidetotheenergydissipationdecreases,andtheplasticdeformationofthesteeplateonthenonfire-exposedsidegraduallybecomesthemainenergydisipationcomponent.Fireduration,explosionchargeandsteestength significantlyaffecttheblastresistanceofSCSwalsunderfireconditions.Whenexposedtofirefor90minutes,themaximum mid-span deformation decreases by approximately 22% ,asthesteel yield strength increases from235 to 460MPa .However, the influenceof the concrete strength is minor.The maximum deformation of SCS wals can be reasonably predicted by the proposed formulas based on the single-degree offreedom method under coupled fire exposure and explosion.
