A study on the preparation and properties of high-density polyethylene/ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene blends

Abstract:To improve the impact resistance and wear resistance of high-density polyethylene (HDPE),the P-UHMWPE reinforced HDPE(P-UHMWPE/HDPE) blends were prepared by solutiondeposition blending,melt blending,injection molding and hot pressng with polyethylene glycol (PEG)as a disentanglement agent and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE) as a reinforcing phase. The effects of PEG and UHMWPE addition on the rheological properties, thermal properties, impact resistance and wear resistance of P-UHMWPE/HDPE blends were analyzed. The results show that the addition of PEG reduces the viscosity of P-UHMWPE/HDPE blends and improves the dispersion and compatibility of UHMWPE in the blends. The addition of UHMWPE improves the impact resistance and wear resistance ofHDPE. When the UHMWPE content reaches 40% ,the impactstrengthof P-UHMWPE/HDPE blends reaches 46.58kJ/m2 ,which is 34% higher than that of the HDPE matrix. Under the same wear conditions, the mass retention rate increases by 8% . This study provides a theoretical basis for improving the impact resistance and wear resistance of polyethylene materials through blending modification.

高密度聚乙烯(HDPE)是一种应用广泛的通用热塑性材料,具有轻质量、高韧性、耐化学腐蚀性强和熔融流动性好,可通过挤出、注塑和模压等多种成型方法加工,但HDPE制品存在模量和强度低等问题,限制了其应用[1-2]。(剩余10607字)
