A new array polarization filtering method based on the antenna space-polarization characteristic differences

Abstract:Polarization filtering methods can efectively combat radaranti-mainlobe interference toa certain extent,but they also impose highdemands on system architecture.In response to this cost contradiction,a new array polarization filtering method basedon the diferences inpolarization spatial characteristics of elements ina single-polarizationis proposed.Starting fromthemechanismof diferences,thismethodutilizestheactiveelement patterns to solve the polarized beam synthesis model,obtaining multiple polarized beams simultaneously.By decomposing the received signals from multiple beams into orthogonal polarizations and estimating interference polarization parameters,interference suppression polarization filtering is achieved. Simulation experiments are conducted based on measured pattern data from an antenna array in the anechoic chamber,and the results indicate that for targetsand interference signals with overlapping directions of arrival,effective interference suppression can beachieved if their polarization states exhibit a certain level of difference.This method demonstrates significant cost-effectiveness advantages and provides new insights for upgrading and transforming single-polarization array radar systems.
