Abstract:Endosaccular flow diverters representanovel categoryof endovascular interventionaldevices primarily employed for the treatmentof intracranial wide-neckand bifurcationaneurysms.Conventionalcoil embolization faces challngessuch ascoil prolapseandrecurrence inwide-neck or bifurcationaneurysms,whileflowdivertersare limitedbycomplexdeployment proceduresand potential compromiseof bloodflowinbranch vessels.Endosaccular flowdiverters area novel interventional embolization device that changes thehemodynamicswithin the aneurysm, promotes thrombus formation,and provides metal coverageatthe neck of theaneurysm to promote endothelialization. Currently,multipleendosaccularflow divertersareunder clinicaluseorinvestigation worldwide.Among these,only theWoven EndoBridge(WEB)devicehasreceivedFDAapproval intheUnited States,whileothersrequire further validation through multicenter studies withlarge-samplefollow-up data.This review summarizesthe structural characteristics,clinical applications,and research advancements of current endosaccular flow diverters.
