Abstract:ObjectiveTo explore theapplication of multimodal image fusion basedon 3D-Slicer software in assisting transsphenoidalsurgeryplanningforpituitary tumors.MethodsTheclinical data of46patients who underwenttransshenoidal microsurgery forpituitary tumorsinFuyang Hospital fromJanuary 2023to August 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the treatment plans,theywere divided intothe experimental group(24 cases)and thecontrol group(22 cases).The experimental group underwent treatment withthe assistance of 3D-Slicer software for minimallinvasive surgery,while the control group received traditional transnasal microsurgery (without3D-Slicer assistance).The postoperativecomplications,operation duration,postoperativehospital stay,and blood loss were compared between the two groups.ResultsThere were no significant differences between the patients intheexperimental groupandthecontrol group in termsof age,gender,visualfield defect,tumordiameter, and surgical method( P>0.05 ).Compared with the control group,the experimental group had shorter operating time and less intraoperative blood loss,which was statistically significant( P<0 . 05).There was no statistically significance in postoperative hospital stay time between the two groups( P>0.05 ). Compared with the control group, the total complicationrate intheexperimental groupwas lower,and thediffrence was statistically significant( P< 0.05).ConclusionsThe preoperative application of 3D-Slicer software can provide surgeons with more abundant visualizedanatomical information,intuitivelyreflecting thecomplex structuresofthesphenoid sinusand tumor location.Thethree-dimensional visualizedanatomical structure ofthelesioncan help doctorsformulatemore comprehensive preoperative plans,improve the success rate of surgery,and reduce surgical complications,which is worthy of promotion in clinical practice.
