The Spirit ofLife Aesthetics in Character Appreciation during the Wei and Jin Dynasties LI Huijie

Abstract: Traditional Chinese culture is a culture of rebirth and joy,and the aesthetic ideas nurtured in the soil of Chinese culture also have a distinct“life”color, which is a“life aesthetics”idea based on“life” as the ontology and discourse basis. By studying the aesthetic phenomenon of character appreciation in the Wei and Jin dynasties from the perspective of“life aesthetics”,it can be found that there is a rich content of life spirit. Firstly,character cultivation is an aesthetic appreciation of the human body,reflecting the discovery and affirmation of individual vitality at that time. Secondly,the phenomenon of using people as metaphors for objects is based on the recognition of the vitality of individual human life and the appreciation of the vitality of all things in nature,which indicates the vitality cosmology of assmilation of all things and harmonious coexistence between humans and nature in traditional Chinese culture.Let's talk about it now. Taking the Wei and Jin dynasties'character style as a starting point,exploring and activating the spirit of life aesthetics in Chinese aesthetics not only has academic research value, but also practical significance.
