Abstract:Objective To investigate the fracture evolution of overlying strataand the development characteristics of "two zones"(caving and fractured zones) under repeated mining in close-distance coal seams.Methods Similarity simulation,numerical simulation and theoretical analysis were conducted based on the 72 and 82 working faces in the 83 Lower Mining Area of Xutuan Coal Mine.The fracture migration and crack evolution of overlying rock under repeated mining of 72 and 82 coal seams were analyzed. Results After mining the 82 coal seam,the caving and fractured zones reached the heights of 22.5m and 86m respectively. Under repeated mining,the periodic weighting interval decreased significantly,the subsidence curves exhibited fluctuations,and the maximum subsidence occurred near the goaf center,showing a "large-middle,small-sides" distribution.Theoretical calculations using a double Σ- seam comprehensive mining thickness model yielded caving and fractured zone heights of 16.81~ 26.23m and 71.78\~92.62m respectively.The numerical simulation revealed that the mining-induced fractures in the 82 coal penetrated the 72 goaf,with a larger fracture range and lateral distribution. Conclusion The research clarifies fracture distribution paterns under repeated mining in close-distance coal seams,providing insights for water and gas hazard prevention in mines.
