Abstract:Metal hydrides Adsorption Purification(MHAP) is regarded as an effective method for hydrogen separationand purificationdue totheselective chemical adsorptionof hydrogen.Thispaperinvestigated theoptimal selectionof materials for MHreactors,from the perspective of materials to operational conditions.The studycollated and analysedthe hydrogen storage performance of materials in a mixture of impurities,and identified a reliable setof MH materials. The hydrogen absorption and discharge reaction thermodynamics of the materials were determined by PCT experiments,and the control equations and coupled models were obtained by considering the complex physical conditions ofheat transfer and flow inthe reactor.The designandoperational parameters of thereactionvessel were furtherinvestigated through the coupled model,with theaimof determining their impacton thepurityand lossof hydrogen in the process.The simulation results indicate that,at a temperature of 353K ,a flow rate of 0.05 kg⋅m-2⋅s-1 results in a hydrogen purity of 99.999% at the outlet within 505s :
