Abstract: To systematically investigate the segmentation characteristics of seismic activity along the Zhangjiakou—Bohai tectonic belt,this study combines qualitative and quantitative approaches to evaluate the seismic detection capability of the belt. A suite of models is employed to analyze seismic segmentation,including the accelerating moment release (AMR) model (which reflects moment acceleration),the OKl993 model (used to access stress accumulation via the b -value), the moment ratio model (which analyzes frequency variations),and the region-time-length algorithm(which evaluates regional seismic activity). The analysis reveals that the completeness magnitude of seismic sequences along the belt remains largely stable over time,with only minor fluctuations;therefore,a minimum completeness magnitude of 2.O is appropriate. Model results show distinct segment differences: for instance, the Zhangjiakou and Beijing segments display higher AMR levels and greater stress accumulation,while the Zhangjiakou and Tangshan segments exhibit elevated anomalous seismic activity. A weighted analysis of all seismicity models indicates an overall low seismic risk across the belt,with the Zhangjiakou segment identified as the top priority for future strong earthquake monitoring.
