Screening of Vaterinary Drug Residues in Animal-derived Food Origin by High Resolution Mass Spectrometry

Abstract:This paper describes the development of mass spectrometry library and the method of screening and confirming 83 drugs and their metabolites in black-bone chicken meat,eggs,beef,and mutton using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-obitrap high resolution massspectrometry(UHPLC - Q/Obitrap HRMS). A two-step procedure was employed: homogenized samples were first extracted with 2mL aqueous solution, followed byasecond extraction using 8mLofacetonitrile.Theextractwas then passed through a purificationcolumn, reconstituted after nitrogen blow-down,and analyzed by UHPLC-Q/Obitrap.Thescreening detection limits ranged from 5.0-20μg/kg .Average recoveries across three spiked concentration levels were 60%-110% . Thismethod proved tobestraightforward,rapidandreliable,making itsuitable fortherapid screening andconfirmationanalysis of veterinary drug residues in black-bone chicken meat,eggs,beef and mutton.
