Isolation and Identification of One Strain ofBovine Mannheimella Haemolytica

Abstract：To investigate thecauseof the disease anddeath of Simmental bef cattlefromalarge-scale farm in Malong County，Yunnan Province，PCR tests were carried out on some bovine virus diseases （BVDV，BCV，BAdV-7 BAdV-3、BRSV and BEFV）and bacterial pathogens（ MB and Pasteurella pultocida） in thelung tissues of the sick and deadcatle sentfortesting，follwedbybacteriaisolation，purification，Gramstained，biochemicalidentificationand antimicrobialsusceptibility testing.Theresultsshowed that thenucleicacidandbacterialPCR testresultsofthetested bovineviruswere negative.The isolatedand purifiedbacteria were Gram-negativeshortrods，biochemically characterizedasMannheimella hemolytica.Antimicrobialsusceptibilitytesting revealedsensitivity topolymyxinBand resistantto spectinomycin，chloramphenicol，cefoperazone，cefotaxime，minocycline，ceftriaxone，ceftazidimeand cefuroxime.These findings provide theoretical referencefortheefective diagnosisand treatmentof“shipping fever" （bovine Mannheimella hemolytica infection，either single or mixed）.
