Study on Improving Color Rubbing Fastness of Suede Fabrics for Automotive Interiors

Abstract:Aimingatthe problem of insufficientcolor rubbing fastness in theapplication of suede-like nonwoven fabricsinautomotiveinteriors,basedontheSix Sigma IDOV(Identify-Design-Optimize-Verify)process theoryandby applying the Houseof Quality(HOQ)tool,thisstudyidentifiesthecorelation between the key technical indicatorsof suede-like fabricsand thematerial production process.Itanalyzes theentireproduction process flowof suede-like fabrics,covering raw material spinning,needle-punching nonwoven formation,polyurethaneimpregnation,weight reduction and fiber opening,dyeing,tonappingand finishing,and designs adyeing processadjustment scheme. Through measures for performance improvement such as adjusting key parameters including the ratio of dye to fixing agentanddyeing time,conducting sample trial productionverification,andperforming scheme optimizationandreverification,thecolorrubbingfastnessofthesuede-likefabrichas been improvedfromGrade2~3toGrade4or above,while ensuring that the fluff styleandhand fee of the suede-like fabricremainunaffcted.This meets the material performance requirements for automotive interiors.The performance improvement scheme has beenapplied in the production processof domestic suede-like fabrics.Compared with imported suede-like fabrics,itcan shorten the production cycle of suede-like materials and reduce their material costs simultaneously.
