Abstract：Thispaper first introduces thefactors that affect the optical properties of transparent ceramics and the protectivemechanism of transparent ceramics.Aiming at the application needsof transparent ceramics in the protection field，theresearchstatusof four transparentprotectivematerials，namelyMagnesiumAluminum Spinel （MgAl2O4） ，Aluminum Oxynitride （AlON），Ytrium Aluminum Garnet（YAG），andsapphiresinglecrystal，is systematicallysummarized.Finally，existing challngesintheapplicationof transparentceramicsforprotectionare analyzed，and the associated problems along with future development directions are discussed.
