Analysis and Improvement of GlossLoss on Door Pillar Decorative Film

Abstract:To address the issue of gloss losson the door pillar decorative film of an automaker's overseas export vehicle modelAinthe MiddleEastregion,the failure mechanism isinvestigatedthrough failurebackgroundanalysis, microscopicmorphologycharacterization,chemicalcompositionanalysis,andsimulation tests,leading toproposed improvement measures.Theresults indicate that the glossloss iscaused bymechanical impact from silicon-oxygen bond(Si-O)particles,with damage concentrated onthe polyurethane coating surface,which is closelyrelated to the localsandyanddustyenvironment.Simulation testsof finesand impactdemonstrate that the"High-glossfilm with protective film" composite structure reduces the gloss loss rate to 2.71% ,withabefore-and-aftercolordifference( ΔL ) to 0.11,significantly outperforming other solutions.
