The Impact of Innovation Dilemmas on Core Technological Breakthroughs in Enterprises： AMOA Theory-DrivenPerspective

XUEXimeng，LI Bin，ZHANG Tingting，ZHANGQirui （SchoolofManagementScienceandEngineering，Shanxi UniversityofFinanceandEconomics，TayuanO3Ooo6，China） Abstract：Withthepersistent risein inovationuncertainty，whether enterprisescanachieve breakthroughsincore technologies amidst innovation dilemmas has become acritical issue requiring urgent resolution.This essay takes Ashare listed companies on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges from 2019 to 2023as observational cases， integrating two analytical methods—dynamic Qualitative Comparative Analysis （QCA）and Propensity Score Matching （PSM）—toexaminetheefectsofdiferentantecedentconfigurationsonbreakthroughsincoretechnologies，basedonhe identification of multipleconfiguration paths leading to corporate innovation dilemmas from the perspective of MOA （Motivation-Opportunity-Ability）theory.Thefindingsrevealthattheemergenceofhigh innovationdilemmasin enterprisesresultsfromtheinterplayofMotivation，Opportunity，andAbilityfactors.Specifically，5distinctconfigurations areidentifiedas leading to high innovationdilemmas，whicharefurtherclasified into threecategories：motivationsource-constrainedandability-deficientdilemmas;market-opportunity-missedandability-insuicientdilemmas;and learning-absorption-capability-limiteddilemmas.Moreover，these5configurations exhibitdiferentiatedimpactsoncore technological breakthroughs within enterprises.
