AbstractAsaprimaryinstrmentforimplementingthe"-iutecommuitylifeicle"onepattegrassrootsevel，oity planning integratesspatial，temporal，andsocial governancedimensions toembed planningmoredeeplyintodailylife. Againsthebackdropofurbanregenerationgoals inthestock-based developmentera，Shanghai hasundertakenmulti-phase community-levelplanning initiatives since2016.By examining the motivations andcontextual drivers behind theevolution ofcommunity planning—from micro-scale urban renewal and action-oriented plans to comprehensive planning—this study synthesizesthedistinctive"ShanghaiModel"ofcommunityplanning.Keycharacteristicsincludeitsroleasacomprehensive planning framework，multi-levelintegrationwithexistingurbanplanningsystems，demand-drivencustomizationofotent，a methodologympsiingtheoordinationofsatial，tmpoal，andsocialdimensios，ndacollaborative，ulti-akolder process.Looking ahead，the study proposes future directions for enhancing communityplanning through theadaptive allocation ofpublicresources atboth macroandmicro scales，ofering insights forurban planning practices inothercities.
