Title: Plurality and the Will to Change: Structural Reconfiguration and Poetic Transformation in Early 21st-Century American Poetry (2001-2020)

Abstract: This article examines the transformation of American poetry in the first two decades of the twenty-first century in relation to political change, identity conflicts, and digital media developments. Using “structural reconfiguration” as its central framework, the study analyzes multiple poetic trajectories, including the lyric turn, conceptual writing, identity-based poetics, ecopoetry, and algorithmic generative practices. It argues that contemporary American poetry is characterized by a decentralized yet internally connected field, driven by ongoing reconfigurations of subjectivity, language, and media. Through formal innovation, poetry responds to historical pressures, maintaining its cultural legitimacy and public function while extending its modern tradition in new political and technological contexts.

Key words: American poetry; lyric turn; conceptual writing; identity poetics; ecopoetry; algorithmic generation
