Title:Kofi Awoonor's Poetry Creation and Marxism

Abstract: Many African countries, although freed from colonial rule, were once subject to Western powers, which has atracted widespread attention from African writers. Writers actively explore various ideas, including Marxism, based on their own country’sactual situation, in order to change the reality of their own country and achieve true independence. Ghanaian poet Kofi Awoonor is one of the representatives. The rich and tumultuous life experiences, as well as the multiple identities of a teacher and diplomat, have given the poet a profound understanding of the current situation in Africa, making his works occasionally highlight Marxist perspectives and positions and reflect his exploration of the socialist system. Awoonor's poetry creation expresses the author's exploration of self-cultural identity, pursuit of cultural liberation, and longing for cultural freedom. Several generations of writers have been deeply influenced by Marxism, which is an important aspect of the similaritis between African literature and Chinese literature.
