Research and Implications of Al Competency Requirements for American Librarians Based on LDA Topic Modeling

Abstract Basedon l34 recentlyreleasedAI-related job postings in the US libraryfield,this paper employs the Latent Dirichlet Allcation (LDA)topic model toconductaquantitativeanalysis of job responsibilities and qualificationrequirements.It systematically reveals thecharacteristicsofAIcompetency demands for librarians,and accordinglyconstructs an AIcompetency framework forlibrarians,clarifying theorganic interconnections among various competencyelements. Aditionallythe paper summarizes the characteristics and experiences of AI competency requirements for librarians in US libraries,and proposes recommendations for the development of AIcompetencies among Chinese librarians.These recommendations include focusing on the cultivation of technicalcompetencies in the Chinese context,promoting the indepth integrationofjobresponsibilities with library service scenarios,andestablishing a governance guarantee andcapacity-buildingsystem tailored to librarycontexts.This research aims to provide decision-making support for the talent team construction of Chinese libraries in the process of intelligent transformation.
