Librarians‘Artificial Intelligence Anxiety： Manifestations， Mechanisms of Influence， and Coping Pathways

Abstract Theaccelerating application of artificial intellgence （AI）in libraries has arousedanxietyamong librarians regarding AItechnologies.TopromoteAI-enabled librarydevelopment，itisnecessary tounderstandtheinfluencing factors of librarians'AIanxiety.This paper employed semi-structured interviewswith 48 librarians from3Olibraries inChinaandapplied groundedtheorytocode thedata，extracting thedimensionsofanxietyperception，characteristicsof their manifestations，andkeyfactors influencingthegenerationofanxiety.Thestudyidentifies eightdimensionsoflibrarians‘ AI anxiety perception and reveals the influencing mechanisms of anxiety perception from three aspects： subjective evaluation，contextualfactors，andpersonalcharacteristics.Thestudyfurtherdiscusesandanalyzesthesituational expression of AIanxiety，theabsenceofemotionalgoverance mechaisms，andthecrisisofprofessonalidentity，and proposesopingpathways to mitigate librarians^AI anxiety.
