Abstract：After modern sportswere introduced into China，a series of foreign exchange activitiesemerged.Most existing studies have mainly focusedontheperiod sincethe founding of the People'sRepublic of China，withrelatively scarce studies on the modern eraand a lack of comprehensive synthesis and systematic experience summary.Through documentaryresearch methodand historical analysis method，thisstudy investigates thecentury-longdevelopment process of modern sports foreign exchanges，expanding the temporal dimension of researchon China's sports foreign exchangesresearch as well asproviding empirical references and theoretical support for the contemporary sports foreign exchange activities.The study argues that China's modern sports foreign exchanges have folowed its own inherent logic and can be divided into four stages：introduction and enlightenment，awakening and dialogue， explorationand progress，and colonizationand resistance.Its development logic mainly covers four dimensions： ideological driving，group driving，regionaldriving anddual driving，witnessing the processof China's sports evolving frominitial domestication to gradual integration into the world.Againstthebackdropof globalization，to create positive value for China's sports cause through sports exchanges，it is necessary to enhance athletic prowess and national identity，independentlygrasp the development direction of sports cause，fully mobilize variousresourcesand colletive wisdom，strengthen national soft power through sports exchanges，construct a sports diplomacy model with Chinese characteristics，and thereby boost the building of a sports power.
