Abstract:InviewoftheporphysicalpropertiesofthesandstonereservoirsoftheYanghugouFormationinthesyclineareaofthe middlesectionofthewesternmarginoftheOrdosBasinandthelowexplorationdegree,thecharacteristicsofthesandstone reservoirsoftheYanghugouFormationwerecharacterizedandtheformationmechanismoftheultra-lowpermeabilitysandstone reservoirs wasexplored throughmethodssuchasthinsections,scanning electronmicroscopy,seismicand imaginglogging, combined withthepreviousresearchresultsonsedimentationandtectonics.Theresultsshow that:1)TheYanghugouFormationof theCarboniferous periodwasdepositedinalowenergyandstabletidalflat-lagoonsedimentarysystem,anddevelopedcoal-bearing stratawithfinegrainsizeandlowsand-to-shaleratio.Thesandstonehasthecharacteristicsofsmallsingle-layerthickness,fine grainsize,poorphysicalpropertiesandlowporosity;2)ThesedimentarythicknessoftheYanghugouFormationislarge,andthe contentofcementishigh,whichhasasignificantimpactontheformationoftightsandstonereservoirs;3)TheYanghugou Formationhasexplorationpotentialforcoal-bearinggasandtightsandstonegas.ThethickmudstonesectionoftheupperYanghugou 1memberisdistributedcontinuously,withclaysheet-ikefracturesandorganicmatterporesanddisslutionporesdeveloped inside,andmicro-poresandmicro-fracturesdevelopedformingself-generatedandself-storedcoal-bearinggasrservois;thetight sandstoneswetspots withgoodphysical propertiesinterbedded inthecoal-bearingstrataandthesourcerockswithinthesource forma good source-reservoir configuration,which canbe used as the key exploration target for the next step.
