Research on the Tooth Profile Design of a Meshing Type Straw Crushing Roller

Abstract : To solve the problems ofuneven particle size,high energy consumption,and disorderly shearing in current straw crushers,a meshing type crushing toothed rollr is designed.The design theory and establishment process of the meshing type straw crushing tooth profile are elaborated,and a meshing type tooth profile based on involute is designed and applied in the crushing field.Considering theuse of crushed straw as feed for ruminant livestock,the meshing tooth profile parameters are determined,the influence of pressre angle, modulus,and number of teeth on the relative sliding rate of the selected meshing point position is analyzed, leading to the calculation of the basic parameter set:19 teeth,a 3mm modulus,and a 20∘ pressure angle. Compared with the initial parameter set, the relative sliding rate is increased by 2.02% ,and the reduction of modulus results in a corrsponding decrease in the volume and weight of the gear grinding roler,thereby saving the manufacturing costs.A three-dimensional model of the gear grinding rollr based on the obtained parameters is established and the transient dynamic analysis on the gear grinding roller at a speed of 500r/min is conducted. The result shows that the parts with the maximum deformation and stress are located at the meshing point, with a maximum stress of 108.19MPa ,which is less than the allowable stress and meets the requirements foruse.
