Abstract:Toaddressthe lowaccuracyand reliabityof existing power cablefault-location methods,anewcable faultlocation methodbasedonAPO-MVMD-Transformerisproposed in this study.Thecollectedcablefault signalis decoupled through phase-mode transformation toobtainthefault traveling wave signal.TheArcticpuffnoptimization(APO) optimized multivariate variational mode decomposition(MVMD)parametersare then used todecompose this traveling wave signal.The Teager energyoperatorisapplied toextract instantaneous energyvariations inthe high-frequencymodal components,allowing theidentificationof thewavefront arivaltimes.Tesamplingpointscorresponding totese timesare thenusedas feature values to construct afeature dataset,which isfurther employed to optimize the APO-Transformedbased model.Finaly,featuredatasetareinput intothe APO-Transformer-based locationmodel to locatecable faults. Results showed thatthe proposed model exhibitedacoeficient of determination as highas0.999 91,a relative faultlocation error within 1% ,and a distance error within 100m ,thereby demonstrating high fault location accuracy.
