Introduction of SHAO Ying's Experience in Treating Allergic Rhinitis with Pediatric Tuina Therapy of "Promoting Harmony Through Unblocking"

Abstract：This paper introduces Professor SHAO Ying's clinical experience in treating allergic rhinitis in children withthe pediatric tuina therapyof "promoting harmony throughunblocking".Professor SHAO Ying holds that the pathogenesisof allrgicrhinitis inchildren is excess inthe superficialityand deficiencyin theorigin.She points outthat theinvasionof external pathogensand stagnationof nasalcollateralsare the keyfactors totheonset，while the disharmony ofthefive zang-organs and deficiencyof healthyqi are the foundation.Theobstructionof triple energizer leads to persistent andrefractory disease.She proposes thepediatric tuina therapy of "promoting harmony through unblocking"，whichadheres totheprincipleof local and holisticregulation.Forrelieving stagnationand dispeling pathogens，it focuses on the local area to treat the superficial symptoms：warmingandunblocking nasal colaterals to dispel external pathogens，andunblocking meridians and fu-organs to regulate the tripleenergizer.For strengthening healthyqi and harmonizing the body，it emphasizes the wholebody to treat therotcause：reinforcing deficiency and reducing excess to harmonizezang-organs，and elevating yang qi to strengthentheroot andconsolidate the foundation. Through characteristic manipulation techniques such as the self-created vibrating and kneading method for "three points around the nose"，combined manipulationsets，and acupoint compatibility，along with diagnostic ideas based on inspection and visceral disease location，favorable clinical effects have been achieved.
