《伤寒论》“刺”应为“刺络”之辨析

Analysis of the Term "Ci" Should be Understood Specifically as "Ciluo" in Shang Han Lun

Abstract：There are nine clauses mentioning the application of the " Ci "（puncturing）method in Shang Han Lun（Treatiseon Cold Damage），involving seven acupoints，namely Fengchi （GB2O），Fengfu（GV16），Qimen（LR14）， Ganshu（BL18），Feishu （BL13），Dazhui（GV14），and Guanyuan（CV4）.Among these，Guanyuan（CV4） is used fordiagnosis，while the others are for treatment.Many Chinese medicine practitioners hold that " Ci "refers to "acupuncture needling".However，combining the meridianand colateral theoryand clinical practice，theauthors argue that " Ci " should be diffrentiated as the "Ciluo"（collateral puncturing）method.The reasons are as follows ： Firstly，all " Ci " methods recorded in Shang Han Lun aim to reduce excess.Secondly，most acupoints selected in the book are locations where pathogenic qi enters or exits.Thirdly，besides clearing heat，"Ciluo"can also dispel wind and unblock collaterals，and invigorate blood and dissipate masses.Fourthly，the book only mentions" Ci "but not "Zhen"（needling），nor does it describe the needling technique for " Ci "， which makes "Ciluo" a more appropriate interpretation.Thisarticle，byanalyzing the specific applications of the six therapeutic acupoints mentioned in Shang Han Lun，elaborates on the differentiation that the " Ci " method shouldbe regarded as "Ciluo"，in order to improve the clinical effect of acupuncture and moxibustion therapies recorded in Shang Han Lun.
