Abstract: Fillet features in plastic parts negatively affect mesh quality, simulation accuracy, and computational eficiency in CAE analysis. Therefore, these features need to be suppressed before simulation. However, current fillet processng primarily relies on manual recognition combined with specialized software,which results in low efficiency for fillt recognition and removal-especially for filletsinvolving freeform surfaces, where effective automatic suppression methods are lacking. This paper proposes an automatic method for removing fillet features in complex models. The method considered both the topological connectivity and curvature conditions of surfaces to accurately recognize fillet faces. A topology-based geometric reconstruction approach was used to extend, trim, and reconstruct adjacent surfaces, thereby achieving suppression of complex fillets. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.
