Abstract:Airway managementis a critical component of critical patientcare.Although traditional methods of airway managementareeffectivetosomeextent,theystillfacemanychallnges,suchasdifficultairways,delayedendotracheal intubation,endotrachealtube migration,unpredictableairwaycomplicationsandfailure tomechanical ventilation weaning. Artificialintellgnce,echnologicaltoolwithdvacedalgorihs,fersimportantinnovationstoimprovesaety andeffciencyof airway management with itsmultimodaldataintegrationandreal-timedecisionsupportcapabilitiesFor example,AIcanbeusedinareassuchasreal-time monitoringofpatients’vitalsigns,dynamicadjustmentofventilator parameters,monitoringandasessmentof airwaycomplications,ndasistedrobotic tracheal intubation.Inadition,AIis abletobuildpredictivemodels basedonbigdatatohelpreducetheriskofinjury inmechanicallyventilated patientsand assistclinicians inmaking timelydecisions.Thispaper reviews theresearch progress ofAI inairway managementand discusses issues of privacyand security,ethics,model performanceand interpretability that maybefaced during the useof AI,and looks forward toa more active role for AI in airway management in future.
