Abstract：Thissudinvestigatedtheconstantp（0.1mm）cyclicrefiingcharacteriticsofardwoodpulpusingaMD30lowosiste cy experimental disc refiner equipped with straight-bar plates featuring a 22∘ angle.The result showed that the increase in beating degree of pulpledtoareductioninitsviscositandshearstrainwithintherefiingzone，therebycausingadecreaseitotalrefiingpowerFurther more，therateofpowereductiongraduallyincreasedwiththeelevationofbeatingdegree.Therelativechangesinbeatingdegeeadfiber averagelengthweremploydtocaracterizfibercutingadfibrilaindgeeduringrefing.Arefingoptimizationmtodbasedon quantitativecaracteratioofaermicomoholasevelod，emostratigsifcantcoetnetentetedein inglimitadviosinperstregthpraetersdertroideferesfortharctezatioofloosisteigpo cesses，optimization of plate design，and the high-efficiency，low-energy operation.
