ABSTRACTChemotherapyisanimportant treatment fortumors,butmost patients experience varyingdegresofchemotherapyinducedmyelosuppression.Fourpropertiestheoryof traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)hasuniqueadvantages inimproving chemotherapy-inducedmyelosuppression.Themonomers fromTCMwithdiferentpropertiesandflavors,suchascold-natured(e.g. Scutellria baicalensis,Rhuschinensis),cool-natured(e.g.Ligustrumlucidum,Ophopogonjaponicus),warm-natured(e.g. Panaxginseng,Epimediumbrevicou,Curcumalonga,Angelicasinesis),ot-natured(e.g.Cinamomumcaia,Acoitm carmichaeli),andneutral-natured(e.g.donkey-hidegelatin,Lyciumbarbarum,Rhodiolarosea,fungi),canexertantimyelosuppressveefectsbyreducingdamage tohematopoieticstem/progenitorcels,improvingthe bonemarrowhematopoietic microenvironment,inhibitingtheoxidativestressresponse,egulating signaling pathways,soas toultimatelyrepaire inflammatory damage and improve hematopoietic function,thereby playingan anti-myelosuppressive role.
