CiteSpace - Based Visualization Analysis of Current Status and Trends in Control of Sunflower Broomrape

Abstract:Sunflower broomrape(Orobanche cumana Wallr.)is a parasitic weed that poses aserious threat to sunflower production.To explore the current status,research hotspots,anddevelopment trends incontrolling sunflower broomrape inChina,this study employedaliteraturereview methodand conductedabibliometricanalysisusing thevisualization softwareCiteSpace.The analysis focused onresearch articlesrelated tosunflower broomrapefrom the CNKIdatabase (1965-2O23),with nodes including publicationvolume,keywords,authors,and major institutions for visual network representation.In terms of publication volume,earlyresearch onsunflower broomrape was limited,but after 2009, annualpublicationsincreased significantly,stabilizing around2O17withapeakof15articlesperyear.Regarding institutionsandauthors,acollaborativeresearch network had formed,primarilycnteredonthe teamsofMAYongqing (Northwest A&FUniversity),ZHAO Jun(Inner Mongolia Agricultural University),YUN Xiaopeng(Inner Mongolia Academy ofAgricultural&Animal Husbandry Sciences),and ZHENG Xiqing(Hetao College).In terms of research hotspots,keywords such as“Orobanche aegyptiaca”(12 occurrences),“resistance”(9 occurrences),and“trap crops”(8 occurrences)appeared frequently,while“damage”“germination rate”“alelopathy”and“physiological race”exhibited high betweennesscentrality(0.18,0.18,0.14,andO.13,respectively).“Trap crops”and“chemical composition”showed strong citation bursts(3.98and 2.O8,respectively).Basedonrecentliteratureand visualization analysis,currentresearchprimarilyfocusesontraditionalresistancebreeding,allelopathic trapcrops toinduce broomrape seed germination,and biological control.With advancements in genomics,future research mayemphasize precisegene editing and improvement of broomrape-resistant sunflower varieties using comprehensive genomic data, multi-gene pyramiding breeding,and thedevelopmentof early infection detectionsystems based on hyperspectral imaging.Aditionaly,integrating meteorological andsoildata toestablishpredictivemodels could becomea key research direction.
