Summary of evidence of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for the prevention and care of upper limb spasticity in stroke patients

Abstract Objective：To retrieve，evaluate，and integrate the best evidence for the prevention and care of upper limb spasticity in stroke patients.Methods：Guidelines，expert consensus，and evidence summary on the prevention and care of upper limb spasticity in stroke patients were systematically retrieved from domestic and foreign databases.The search period was from database establishment to January 31，2024.Two researchers independently evaluated the quality of the literature and integrated the evidence of the included literature.Results：A total of 16 articles were included，including 11 guidelines，2 expert consensus，and 3 evidence summaries.And 55 pieces of the best evidence had formed from 4 aspects：nursing assessment，rehabilitation nursing，upper limb symptom management，and health education.Conclusions：The evidence summary of the prevention and care of upper limb spasticity in stroke patients can provide an evidence-based basis for medical staff and improve the upper limb symptom management strategy for stroke patients.
