Systematic review of the qualitative study on the support needs of caregivers for traumatic children

Abstract  Objective：To conduct a qualitative study on the support needs of caregivers for children with trauma，in order to provide reference for improving the quality of life of children with trauma.Methods：Computer searches were conducted on PubMed，EMbase，Web of Science，the Cochrane Library，MedLine，EBSCO，CNKI，WanFang Database，CBM，and VIP for qualitative research on the support needs of caregivers for traumatic children.The retrieval time was from the inception to March 2023.The quality evaluation of the included studies was conducted using the Joanna Briggs Institute（JBI） evidence-based healthcare center′s qualitative research quality evaluation standards（2016），and the results were integrated using a pooled integration method.Results：A total of 14 articles were included，and 56 research results were extracted and summarized into 9 new categories，forming 4 integrated results，namely information needs，psychological needs，social support needs，and continuing care needs.Conclusion：Medical staff should pay attention to the care experience and needs of caregivers of trauma-affected children，provide timely medical information，emotional and social support，and improve discharge continuing care，guide caregivers to better adapt to role changes， to further improve the quality of life of children，and help children return to society better.
