Abstract： Driven byboth multilateraland bilateralmechanisms，theglobalvaluechain（GVC）has undergone profound evolution，becominganimportantorganizationalmodeofinternationaldivisionoflabor.BasedontheOECDdatabaseandusingthe WWZ method，this articleconstructs indicators suchas GVC participation，forwardGVC participation，backward GVCparticipation，andGVCpositionindextosystematicallyexplorethedvelopmentcharacteristicsandevolutiontrendsoftheglobalvalue chain.Theresearch fidingsareasfollows.Firstly，GVCparticipationcontinues todeepen，withdevelopingcountries playingan increasinglyimportantoleintheinterationaldivisiooflaborandthetradabilityfmaufacturedgoodsissignificantlyhigher thanthatofagculturalproductsandservies.econdlytheoverallevolutionofGVCpositionpresentsaVshape，withdevelop ing countriesgenerallyremaining inlowvalue-added links，andthepositionof manufacturingdivisionoflaborcontinues to weaken.Thirdly，Chinahasactivelyintegratedintotheglobaldivisiooflabor，graduallnhancingitssupplycapacityofinter mediate goods，anditsGVCpositionintheservicesectorhassignificantlyimproved.Inthefuture，Chinashouldsteadilypromote institutional opening-up and continuously enhance its global competitiveness in the service sector.
