How the Digital Economy Affects the Common Wealth of Cities in China？

-AnAnalysis of Quasi-Natural Experiments Based on "Broadband China"

Abstract：Takingthe"Broadband China"pilotpolicyasanatural experiment，this paperselects thepaneldataof278 prefecture-levelcitiesacrossChinafrom201lto2O2andusesthemulti-perioddiference-in-diferences methodtoempirialy testthe mpactofthedigital economyoncommon prosperityanditsmechanism.Theresearch findsthat，using the "Broadband China"pilotpolicyasaproxyvariable，thedigitaleconomysignificantlydrives theimprovementofcommon prosperityandthis conclusionremainsvalidafteraseriesof tests.Compared withtheeasternregion，theimpactof thedigitaleconomyontheimprovement ofcommon prosperityinthecentralandwestern regions is more prominent.Innovationandentrepreneurshipandindustrial structureupgradingplayamediatingroleintheimpactofthedigitaleconoyoncommonprosperity.Intheprocesof the digitalconoydrivingomonprospritynterpriseiovation，individualentrepreneurship，industrialstructureatializa tion，andidustrialstructureupgradingallplaaprominentbidgeole.Intefuture，efortssouldbeaceleratedtoprootethe constructionofgioaldigitalinfrastructureigorouslypromote"masstrepreneurshipndinovation"，tachgeao tancetoindustrialtransformationandupgrading，andfullyunleashthepromotingefectof thedigitaleconomyonommonprosperity.
