ZHENG Dong-he,HU Yue

Abstract:Withthecontinuousadvancementof global scientificand technological innovation, thefieldofdigital communication has witnessed unprecedented growth. In this context, effectively using emerging communication technologies to enhance popular science communicationand improve public scientific literacy has become a crucial issue.Aspopularsciencecommunicationchannelsand methods diversifyscientists'influenceondigitalcommunication platforms continues togrow.Inparticular, short videos featuring scientistsonsocial media haveatracted increasing user engagementand triggered more frequent and in-depth discusions on scientific topics. The current study explores the mechanisms underlying youngadults'(aged18-34)exposureto scientist-related short videos and their intention toshare suchcontent.Guided byresonance theory,across-sectional survey wasconducted tosystematicallytestthe hypotheses, including directand mediatedefects.Theresultsoffer valuable insights intohowtooptimize short video content featuring scientists, therebyultimately increasingyoungaudiences'intention to sharescientific information.
