This article traces the origin of traditional fish pattern， analyzes the development， change and symbolic meaning of traditional Chinese fish pattern on various types of carriers in different periods （such as primitive period and the Neolithic Age）， continuously describes the current status in modern design， and probes into the value and application method of such pattern in modern design from the perspective of external form， internal meaning and overall spirit.
