Abstract:Accuratelyandeficiently detecting and locating defects incritical parts of pipelines is an urgent problemthatneeds tobesolved.First,theaxialdisplacementtimehistory signalofpipelinedefectsobtained from direct guided wave detection test was matched,trackedand denoised to accurately locate the axial position of pipeline defects.Second,azero-defect finite element reference model with the same geometric and material parameters as the actualpipeline was built.Third,thedefect echo and itsconversion mode were extracted from the axial displacement time history signal.Fourth,timereversal was conducted to generate atime-reversal guided wave excitation signal.Fifth,the excitation signal was reloaded in the reference model to simulate the propagation process of time-reversal guided waves in zero-defect pipelines,and the time-reversal guided wave energy would be focused on thecentral positionof theoriginaldefecton the circumferential section.Finally,the circumferential positionof the pipelinedefect was determined bycalculating the maximumaxial displacement at thelocation of the defecton the reference model. The research conclusions provide new ideas for locating pipeline defects.
