Abstract:During drilling in medium to deep strata,the complexity and poor drillability of these formations maylead to buckling and jumping of drilling tool,resonance fatigueofdrillstring,and lowdrilling efficiency.To solve these problems,adriling shock absorptionand stabilization tool was developed.This tool enablesthe dril string toadaptto weightonbits(WOBs)andabsorb/reduce thedynamicaxial load generatedbydrillbit whiledrillingthrough the two-way movement of the disc spring.Itcan reduce the force generated by vibration through mechanical friction,thereby improving the rate of penetration (ROP)and prolonging the service lifeof drilling tool.The strength and stiffess ofthe disc spring,the keycomponentofthe drilling shock absorptionand stabilization tool,were analyzedandcalculated bynumerical simulation software.Itisverified that thedrilling shock absorption and stabilization tool is designed rationally,with the maximum working WOB up to 220kN and the disc spring stroke of(5O±15)mm,and meets the designed performance.Filed application in the Bohai Oilfield demonstrates thatthe tool structure isrelible,andthe wells withthedrillingshock absorption and stabilization tool yield the average stick-slip vibration value 30. 72% lower than that of the adjacent wells without such tool in the same interval of the same formation,indicating a noticeable effect of shock absorption.
