Abstract: In response to the demand for plugging old wells of CO 2 gas storage under the carbon peak and carbonneutrality goals,toaddress the challenges of deploying wireline logging tols to the bottomholeof highlydeviatedand complex-structure wells during operations,combined with drill-string conveyed wetconnector technologyand magnetic ranging technology,a wet connectordocking and multi-stage insulation shielding process was designed,dedicated components such as insulated sub,insulated drillpipe and wirelineconnecting device were designed,and anovel drill-string conveyed magnetic ranging technology was formedandapplied inthefield.The research and application results show that the active magnetic ranging drillstring system achieves sustained excitation after wet connector docking,solving the problem of running in hole with deviation angle above 40∘ or having anomalies such as sloughing and reduction,thereby extending applicability to full spectrum of welltypes.The system notably enhancesanti-lectromagnetic interference capability in drill-string conveyance mode,with good field application effct.However,influenced bycurrent attenuation inmud,drillstring and formation,the transmission distance is only % of wireline logging,requiring to make breakthroughs through high-conductivity mud andoptimizing drillstring insulation.The research conclusions provide reference for high-precision magnetic ranging technology in plugging old wells with complex wellbores.
