Abstract  Objective：To investigate status quo of vicarious traumatization among emergency department nurses in Anhui province and analyze its influencing factors.Methods：379 emergency department nurses in 15 public hospitals in Anhui province were selected as study subjects from March 2022 to April 2022.The survey was carried out with general information questionnaire，Vicarious Traumatization Questionnaire for Trauma Helpers，Chinese version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index⁃C，and Connor⁃Davidson Resilience Scale.Results：The total score of Vicarious Traumatization Questionnaire for Trauma Helpers of 379 emergency department nurses in Anhui province was 84.65±21.83，38 of which exceeded theoretical median，and the incidence of vicarious traumatization was 10.03%.The total score of Chinese version of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index⁃C of emergency department nurses in Anhui province was positively correlated with the total score of Vicarious Traumatization Questionnaire for Trauma Helpers（r=0.181，P<0.05），while the total score of Connor⁃Davidson Resilience Scale was negatively correlated with the total score of Vicarious Traumatization Questionnaire for Trauma Helpers（r=-0.374，P<0.05）.The results of  stepwise linear regression analysis showed that self⁃evaluation of health status，job satisfaction，relationship between doctors and nurses，empathy and psychological resilience were main influencing factors of vicarious traumatization among emergency department nurses，which could explain 34.4% of the total variance.Conclusions：The vicarious traumatization among emergency department nurses in Anhui province is at high level，and managers need to formulate intervention measures according to its influencing factors to reduce or prevent the occurrence of vicarious traumatization among emergency department nurses.
