Energy-based Concrete Damage Constitutive Model Under Tensile-Compressive Cyclic Loadings

Abstract:To solvethe problem that theoriginal Kong-Fang concrete damage constitutive model could not describe strain hardening phenomenon ofconcrete duringcompresionandmodulus damage ofconcrete subjectedto tensile-compressive cyclicloadings,the yield strength surface was introduced todescribethestrainhardening phenomenonofconcrete.Scalars of tensile and shear damage derived onthebasis of energy method were multipliedbytensileand shearstresses respectively to describe the modulus damage problem of concrete.In summary,an energy-based concrete damage constitutive model undertensile-compressivecyclic loadings was establishedand implanted intoLS-DYNA software.Stress-straincurves were predicted under uniaxial compresioncyclicloading,uniaxial tensioncyclic loading,anduniaxial tension-compressive cyclic loading of aconcrete single element model.The results showthatstress-strain curves obtained by numericalycalculating thesingleelement modelusingtheestablishedmodel includeelastic segment,strain hardening segment,and strain softeningsegment.The established model can notonly efectively verifythe strain hardening phenomenon inascending section and strainsoftening phenomenon in descending section of the concrete stress-straincurves,but also perfectly predict the concrete stress-strain curves under uniaxial compressivecyclic loading,uniaxial tensile cyclic loading,and uniaxial tensile-compressive cyclic loading.
